Jeff Hlad, MA, RCC
|
Jeff is a calm and warm-hearted trauma therapist, with a background in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Ecotherapy (nature-based therapy). His work draws heavily on the wisdom of nature, whether clients meet him in the office or in the forest. His grounding presence and strong attunement are felt immediately, and invite people into a deeper connection and curiosity to their inner and outer world.
Sometimes, traditional talk-therapy doesn’t feel like enough. Whether you are new to therapy or a seasoned seeker of personal growth, Jeff helps his clients go beneath their stories, slow down, and get in touch with their own inner compass. Jeff offers therapy sessions in-person at our downtown office, as well as occasionally in nature-based settings, like the forest or by the ocean. |
Rooted in research and ancient tradition alike, nature-based practices have been shown to improve cognitive functioning and emotional well-being while leading to a greater sense of connectedness and purpose.
Being a part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community is an identity Jeff wears proudly. Outside of the therapeutic space, he has volunteered with a number of queer organizations. Whether you’re out and proud, a fierce ally, or curious to explore more, he feels honored to meet you right where you are.
As a recent immigrant to Vancouver from Ohio, United States, Jeff has experienced the challenges of uprooting and forging a new path. He appreciates the courage it takes to make a big change and honors the grief and loneliness that can come from leaving what is familiar. It is not uncommon for old patterns to reemerge, attachment wounds to surface, or past trauma to come to light. In the face of life’s big transitions and upheavals, Jeff encourages his clients to remain curious and offer compassion to the parts of us that work so hard to keep us feeling safe.
Outside of his therapeutic work, Jeff enjoys lounging at the beach, getting lost in the forest, and walking his dog, Lucy. He cherishes music and always loves discovering new artists or catching a live show.
Jeff offers a free 20-minute phone consultation to ensure it is a good fit to work together. Please reach out to inquire today!
