Sarah (Sal) Lally, MA, RCC
Welcome! I’m Sal, a trauma therapist with a passion for mindfulness, somatics, grief work, and the power of genuine healing relationships.
I offer a warm and non-judgmental space where my clients can expect to feel safe, heard, and respected. People often describe me as authentic and deeply caring, and I am committed to helping others walk their own unique paths of well-being and healing - however this may look for them.
My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, parts work (Internal Family Systems), and emphasizes mindfulness and somatic awareness. My work as a therapist draws extensively on personal experiences with Vipassana meditation; past therapeutic work with women, families, and marginalized communities in the Downtown East Side; my own transformative experiences with therapy; and living as an immigrant in Canada.
Having lived in several different countries around the world, I intimately understand the challenges and rewards of adapting to a new culture. After immigrating to Vancouver from Ireland in 2017, I became especially passionate about helping fellow immigrants navigate feelings of grief, identity, and belonging. Geographical distance can shed a light on old relational patterns and trauma, and can unexpectedly begin a journey to deeper healing. Supporting people on this journey is my great honour and privilege.
Originally from Galway, Ireland, my upbringing on a farm fostered a deep love for nature, which I embrace through camping, hiking, skiing, and cycling. I am endlessly curious about how our unique cultural experiences shape our relationships with the world, and I bring this openness and curiosity into the heart of my work as a therapist.
I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation where we can learn a little more about one another and determine if it’s a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!
