CompassionWithin is a team of dedicated Clinical Counsellors offering holistic and trauma-focused therapy in Vancouver BC and online. Our work is inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness practice, mind-body somatic work, and trauma-informed therapy.

Meet the Team
Sarah Jarvis, MA, RCC
Sarah is a certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist and consultant, IFS Institute Assistant Trainer, Somatic IFS therapist, and a Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) teacher. She is highly experienced working with complex trauma, anxiety and depression, spirituality and meaning-making, and intimacy/relationships. She has a special love for working with therapists and coaches both in psychotherapy and consultation.

Carla Budd, MA, RCC
Carla is a trauma therapist with a big heart and sharp intuition. She brings great warmth, humour, wisdom, and compassion to her therapeutic work. She weaves together IFS, EMDR, somatic therapy and mindfulness to support her clients. Carla integrates her past years as a professional dancer, dance teacher, and registered nutritionist with her ongoing studies in trauma therapy, somatic practice, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy & integration, to bring a truly holistic approach to her counselling practice. Virginia O'Brien, MC, RCC
Virginia is a compassionate and attuned guide on the path to inner healing, peace, and self-discovery. She works with folks seeking relief from past and present trauma, anxiety and depression, relationship and attachment struggles, parenting and postpartum issues, and those simply yearning for greater emotional and spiritual growth.
Virginia goes beyond traditional talk therapy to support you in getting to the root of your distress, while helping build mind-body skills for greater calm, confidence, and courage. She draws on over a decade of teaching and leadership in the healing field, including somatic therapy, yoga and meditation, which she now integrates with EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to best support her clients.

Sal's therapeutic approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, parts work (Internal Family Systems), and emphasizes mindfulness and somatic awareness. She draws extensively on personal experience with Vipassana meditation; past therapeutic work with women, families, and marginalized communities in the Downtown East Side; her own transformative experiences with therapy; and living as an immigrant in Canada.
