Virginia O'Brien, MA, RCC
Virginia is a compassionate and attuned guide on the path to inner healing, peace, and self-discovery. She works with people seeking relief from anxiety and depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship and attachment struggles, parenting and postpartum issues, and folks simply yearning for greater emotional and spiritual growth.
Virginia goes beyond traditional talk therapy to help you get to the root of your distress, while supporting you to build mind-body skills for greater calm, confidence, and courage.
She draws on over a decade of teaching and leadership in the healing field, including somatic therapy, yoga, and meditation, which she now weaves together with trauma informed modalities such as EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to best support her clients.
In addition to working with individuals and couples, Virginia loves working with groups and brings a decade of experience to her group facilitation. She enjoys fostering nurturing spaces and deeply values community. She is currently developing a pre-natal IFS & Mindfulness group for new mothers, which will be coming out soon!
Virginia values fostering a warm and open environment where people can explore their inner landscapes with trust and ease. She firmly believes in the innate capacity of every person to heal and grow, and supports her clients towards living in greater harmony and ease within themselves, their relationships, and the outside world.
Outside her work as a therapist, Virginia is a devoted mother to her teenage daughter and wife to her partner of eighteen years. From her early years on Hornby Island, where she was raised, Virginia developed a profound love for nature and in her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends exploring the beaches, forests and mountains we are so fortunate to be surrounded by.
Virginia offers a free 20-minute phone consultation to ensure it is a good fit to work together. Please reach out to inquire today!
